Derek Mikulski, ActivMotion Bar Inventor
Derek Mikulski is a NASM and NPTI Certified Personal Trainer. He also is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the NSCA and holds a B.S. in health education and promotion from Central Michigan University. Curious and inventive his whole life, Derek has always followed the road less traveled.
Derek started taking an interest in fitness at the age of 18 when, through self-education and hard work, he lost 80 pounds! Derek now looks to inspire and help as many people as possible lose weight and better their fitness with his engaging personality and new ActivMotion Bar Disruptive Training™.
Robert Sherman, ActivMotion Bar Master Instructor
When it comes to the world of fitness, few people have a level of knowledge and expertise that matches Robert's. He has spent more than 30 years as a speaker, trainer and programming consultant for fitness clubs, wellness facilities and conventions around the world. As a member of the ActivMotion Bar Elite Team, he's excited about training fitness professionals and helping bring this dynamic training to the masses.
Robert is president and owner of F.I.T., Inc., Master Instructor for SPRI, Schwinn Master Trainer and Area Group Fitness Manager for Equinox Fitness Clubs. He holds a B.A. degree in business administration and marketing from the University of Maryland, and is a Gold Certified Personal Trainer and Fitness Instructor by ACE, AFAA and ACSM.
Andrea Metcalf, ActivMotion Bar Master Instructor
With more than 30 years of experience in the healthy lifestyle industry, Andrea is recognized by her peers, clients and national media outlets as a trusted expert and advisor in the active aging and female fitness markets. As a member of the ActivMotion Bar Elite Team, she believes that she can change lives for the better with this effective and dynamic new tool and training.
Andrea has written for the American Council on Exercise (ACE), created two television shows, developed hours of online TV video content, and made over a dozen appearances on the NBC TODAY Show and NBC Chicago. She is an ACE Group Fitness Instructor and certified by NASM as a Certified Personal Trainer, a Performance Enhancement Specialist and in Optimum Performance Training. With her enthusiasm, excitement and knowledge, it's easy to see why her fans are so loyal and passionate.
Dave Davis, Golf Professional
When it comes to golf, Dave knows how to play and how to help players get better. He is the founder of Pro Fitness Golf Performance in Walled Lake, Michigan, a certified Level 2 Titleist Performance Golf Fitness Instructor, a USA Weightlifting Instructor, a K-Vest 3D-TPI Bio-Mechanic Specialist, and leading provider of golf performance conditioning.
His philosophy on training is focused on two things: understanding the uniqueness of each individual and creating a functional training environment that brings about positive change. Dave is dedicated to serving the needs of people every day. He joined the ActivMotion Bar Elite Team because he sees how this new fitness tool can improve golf biomechanics and conditioning.
Abbie Appel, ActivMotion Bar Master Instructor
Abbie Appel is an award-winning fitness instructor and the group fitness manager of Equinox in Miami Beach. She studied music and dance for over 20 years and specializes in developing unique fitness programs using her extensive Pilates experience. As a consultant for JumpSport, Resist-A-Ball, SPRI products and TRX, Abbie contributes material to fitness publications, including Self, Shape, Prevention and IDEA Journal and has choreographed and starred in over 20 fitness videos.
Ken Weichert (aka SGT Ken®), ActivMotion Bar Master Instructor
Ken Weichert (aka SGT Ken®) is an award-winning international speaker, sixtime US Army Soldier of the Year, Master Fitness Trainer, Master Resilience Trainer, Counterintelligence Agent and highly decorated combat veteran.Ken has trained over 500,000 Service Members and civilians through Operation Fit to Fight, has written over 100 articles for GX®, Backpacker®, Outside®, Health®,and created the Operation Family Fit video series and fitness kits for the Air National Guard.Ken founded the longest-running Boot Camp fitness program in the United States, START Fitness®, and has starred in several best-selling fitness videos. Ken is the recipient of the Canadian Fitness Professionals 2011 “Best New Presenter of the Year” award, the EMPOWER 2013 “Male Presenter of the Year” award, and has been featured numerous times on ABC, CBS, NBC,Fox news, and continues to serve as a host for the Fit for Duty show on the Pentagon Channel.
Ken is a continuing education provider through the American
Council on Exercise (ACE), the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM)
and the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA) for the Tactical
Fitness Trainer (aka “Boot Camp Instructor”) course. Ken’s mission is to provide
safe and effective fitness and resilience training to help people turn stress into
strength and obstacles into opportunities.
Julie Bellis, ActivMotion Bar Master Instructor
Julie Bellis works for Equinox in Chicago as a Group Fitness Instructor. She started her career as a group fitness instructor when she received her first ACE certification. After graduating Texas A&M with her B.S. in Kinesiology, she completed her Physical Therapist Assistant license while teaching Tae Bo part time for Billy Blanks. In 2003, she became a certified personal trainer by NASM and throughout her career has recruited, trained and managed personal training staffs and group fitness instructors. She thrives as a PTA, ActivMotion Bar Master Instructor and Group Fitness Instructor and has various other certifications including TRX, Schwinn Indoor Cycling, Kettlebell Concepts and recently added Animal Flow Level 2 Master Instructor.
Pete McCall, ActivMotion Bar Master Instructor
Pete is not only dedicated to helping clients improve their fitness levels; he has spent a large portion of his career educating personal trainers. Currently Pete is the Science Officer for the Institute of Motion, a master trainer for ActivMotion Bar and Star Trac, an education consultant, international speaker and author. Prior to starting his own personal training and fitness education consulting business, PMc Fitness Solutions, he served as an exercise physiologist for the American Council on Exercise (ACE), where he helped create the Integrated Fitness Training (ACE IFT©) model of program design as well as produce education programs to help personal trainers earn and maintain their professional credentials.
Dr.Mike Voight, ActivMotion Bar Corrective Exercise and Golf Fitness Educator
Dr. Michael Voight has had a distinguished career as both an educator and clinical physical therapist for over 30 years. Throughout his career he has not only become one of the leading authorities in the rehabilitation of orthopedic and sports injuries, he has worked tirelessly to advance the knowledge of others as a clinician and educator by making significant contributions to the literature used to train our future practitioners. Dr. Voight has consulted with various teams in MLB, NFL, NHL and the MLS. He is a Board Member of the Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) and is a principle reviewer for the prestigious American Journal of Sports Medicine, and actively resides on the editorial boards of several different journals.
